Talisman Mining Limited (ASX: $TLM) has confirmed a significant base metal discovery at the Durnings Prospect, part of its 100%-owned Lachlan Project in central NSW. The follow-up diamond drilling has intersected multiple zones of massive sulphide galena-sphalerite-chalcopyrite (lead-zinc-copper) mineralisation at the Durnings Prospect. The initial diamond drilling is part of the follow-up program of Reverse Circulation (RC) and Diamond Drilling (DD) that commenced recently.
Talisman's Managing Director, Andrew Munckton, expressed his satisfaction with the follow-up drill program at Durnings, stating that it has intersected impressive visual mineralised intersections, confirming the potential significance of the base metal discovery. He highlighted the intersected significant zones of matrix, laminated, and blebby sulphide, as well as a zone of massive sulphide containing galena, sphalerite, and chalcopyrite. Munckton emphasized the potential game-changing nature of the discovery and the strong multi-metal assay results received from the adjacent discovery hole DRRC0006, indicating strong precious metals values associated with the mineralization.
