Encounter Resources Limited (ASX: $ENR) has announced the confirmation of widespread carbonatite complex hosted niobium-REE mineralisation at the Green target in the West Arunta region of WA. Initial assays from broad-spaced aircore drilling have delineated the mineralisation over 1.6km of strike, with the mineralised trend remaining open to the east as it approaches the Stromness fault. The company is expecting assay results from aircore drilling on the eastern side of Green in August 2024 and has planned closer spaced drilling to define better mineralised parts of the large carbonatite at Green.
Broad spaced aircore drilling at Green is rapidly identifying and mapping out near surface mineralised carbonatites in the West Arunta. The mineralised trend at Green follows a curved, magnetic anomaly extending to the north-east from WA1's Luni discovery and wraps around into the Stromness fault. Many of the aircore holes drilled at Green end in high-grade niobium mineralisation, and the next phase of exploration aims to methodically define better mineralised parts of the large carbonatite at Green through closer spaced and deeper drilling.
