Dreadnought Resources Limited (ASX: $DRE) has announced the commencement of drilling at Gifford Creek, part of the 100% owned Mangaroon Critical Minerals Project, located in the Gascoyne Region of Western Australia. The drilling program aims to extend known pyrochlore Nb mineralisation and discover additional deposits. With a focus on rare earths, the program targets new discoveries and aims to evolve Mangaroon as a multi-commodity critical metals hub within close proximity to existing infrastructure.
Dreadnought's Managing Director, Dean Tuck, expressed optimism about the potential for Mangaroon to become a significant, high-grade niobium/rare earths resource at Gifford Creek. He highlighted the identification of four zones of mineralisation containing rare earths, niobium, scandium, phosphorus, and titanium, with less than 25% of the intrusion tested by wide spaced, first pass drilling. Tuck emphasized the company's confidence in the potential for growing a significant resource at Gifford Creek, emphasizing the mutual benefit to pastoralists, existing ports, and neighboring projects.
The drilling program at Gifford Creek Carbonatite aims to extend known pyrochlore Nb mineralisation and discover additional deposits. With less than 25% of the 17km long Gifford Creek Carbonatite tested by wide spaced drilling to date, the program targets new discoveries and aims to evolve Mangaroon as a multi-commodity critical metals hub within close proximity to existing infrastructure. The company's ambitions include growing a significant, high-grade niobium/rare earths resource at Gifford Creek. The program is supported by a GSWA Exploration Incentive Scheme grant and a drill-for-equity agreement with Topdrill. Results are expected in August and September 2024, and the company remains confident in the potential for significant resource growth at Gifford Creek.
