Saunders International Limited (ASX: $SND) has been awarded the $31.5 million CIL3 Tanks Replacement project by Northern Star Resources at its Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines (KCGM) in Western Australia. The project involves the reconstruction and upgrade of six carbon-in-leach (CIL) tanks, aiming to support Northern Star Resources in increasing the throughput of their third bank of CIL tanks (CIL3) on-site, while enhancing the reliability and availability of the Fimiston Processing Plant. Saunders' construction methodology and integrated capability significantly reduce interface and safety risks, allowing the plant to remain fully operational during project execution. Site mobilisation commenced in July 2024, and the project will contribute to Saunders' revenue and earnings in FY25 through to FY27.
Our team has worked to create a construction methodology that ensures continuous plant operation throughout the project, minimising shutdowns and maintaining revenue for Northern Star Resources. This win comes as we expand our presence and increase our services in Western Australia, supported by the opening of our new regional office and dedicated leadership team in Perth.
