Coda Minerals Limited (ASX: $COD) has formally commenced the environmental approvals process for its 100%-owned Elizabeth Creek Copper-Cobalt Project in South Australia by submitting the Preliminary Impact Assessment (PIA) to the South Australian Department of Energy and Mining (SA DEM). The project is at an advanced Scoping Study stage with over 1 million tonnes of contained copper-equivalent in JORC Compliant Resources.
Coda CEO Chris Stevens expressed, 'We benefit from being located in an exceptional mining jurisdiction in South Australia with clear approvals processes and low sovereign risk. This is an important formal step on the road to securing approvals for the Elizabeth Creek Copper-Cobalt Project. Coda has chosen to engage early with key stakeholders, understand environmental and social impact, and be responsible participants within the industry. Leveraging off the existing baseline studies and data collected by earlier miners, held by the South Australian Government, will help in reducing red tape and overall cost associated with the approvals process.'
Coda Minerals has initiated the environmental approvals process for its Elizabeth Creek Copper-Cobalt Project by submitting the Preliminary Impact Assessment to the South Australian Department of Energy and Mining. The company aims to engage early with stakeholders, understand environmental and social impact, and leverage existing baseline studies and data to streamline the approvals process. The project's advanced Scoping Study stage and over 1 million tonnes of contained copper-equivalent in JORC Compliant Resources position it for significant progress in the approvals process. The company anticipates a relatively streamlined process due to the remoteness and relatively low sensitivity of its project area.
