Sunstone Metals Ltd (ASX:STM) has announced strong gold-copper porphyry trench assay results from its Bramaderos Project in southern Ecuador. The latest assays from channel sampling have confirmed significant porphyry gold-copper mineralisation at the Melonal target, expanding the Bramaderos gold-copper porphyry opportunity and increasing confidence in the Project's porphyry Exploration Target of 3.3 - 8.6Moz AuEq. The potential tonnage, grade, and quantity of the Exploration Target is conceptual in nature, and there has been insufficient exploration to estimate a Mineral Resource for the target area reported. It is uncertain if further exploration will result in the estimation of a Mineral Resource.
The Managing Director of Sunstone Metals Ltd, Patrick Duffy, expressed excitement about the strong gold-copper results from the Melonal porphyry target at the Bramaderos Project. He highlighted the potential for large contiguous open pit opportunities at the Brama-Alba-Melonal porphyry complex and the identification of additional porphyry bodies to the south-east of Melonal. Duffy emphasized the significance of the results in enhancing confidence for future drilling programs at Melonal and reinforcing the Bramaderos Project as a world-class multi-decade mining opportunity. He also mentioned the attractiveness of the Project to third parties, given the ever-decreasing global reserves of gold and copper.
