Terrain Minerals (ASX:TMX) has announced the initial Phase One Exploration Target for its Larins Lane Project in Western Australia. The target, defined by SRK Consulting, focuses on rare earth elements and gallium mineralization. This exploration covers less than 5% of the geology, with a potential of 25 to 33 million tonnes of mineralized material.
Terrain Minerals is advancing its exploration efforts at the Larins Lane Project in Western Australia, focusing on rare earth elements and gallium. With an exploration target covering a small portion of the geology, the company plans to expand its mineralization footprint through a follow-up air core drilling program in early 2025. This program aims to triple the explored area, with a strategic focus on gallium due to its critical role in electronics and semiconductors. Terrain is also collaborating with Curtin University to develop environmentally friendly extraction processes for critical minerals. The company plans further exploration phases, including a Phase Three drilling program, to test the remaining 80% of the prospective geology. Terrain remains open to the sale or joint venture of its non-core assets while exploring other opportunities both in Australia and internationally.
The exploration target currently covers less than 5% of the prospective geology, with an identified potential of 25 to 33 million tonnes of mineralized material. The grades for Total Rare Earth Oxides (TREO) range from 980 to 880 ppm, and gallium grades range from 19 to 21 grams per tonne.
