Vulcan Energy Resources (ASX:VUL) has reached a significant milestone by commencing lithium hydroxide production at their Central Lithium Electrolysis Optimisation Plant in Frankfurt, Germany. This marks the first fully domestic sustainable lithium hydroxide production in Europe, covering the entire supply chain from extraction to processing. With renewable heat and power, the production achieves a low carbon footprint, supporting Europe's transition to green mobility.
Vulcan Energy Resources has begun producing lithium hydroxide at their plant in Germany, marking a key step in sustainable lithium production. The project supports Europe's drive for raw materials independence and green mobility by providing battery-grade lithium hydroxide for electric vehicles. Phase One aims to produce 24,000 tonnes annually, enough for 500,000 EVs. Vulcan's strategic location in Central Europe reduces logistics costs and emissions. The project is backed by financial support from BNP Paribas, the European Investment Bank, and other European banks, highlighting its global significance. Future phases and ongoing studies are expected to further expand Vulcan's capabilities.
