MaxiPARTS reaches settlement agreement
MaxiPARTS (ASX:MXI) has announced a settlement of a legal dispute with The Freighter Group Pty Ltd. The settlement involves a $2.2 million cash payment to MaxiPARTS by December 18, 2024. This resolves disputes from the 2021 sale of the Trailer Solutions Business.
Conclusion and future outlook
MaxiPARTS has successfully settled a legal dispute with The Freighter Group, resulting in a $2.2 million cash payment by the end of 2024. This settlement addresses all legal issues from the 2021 sale of the Trailer Solutions Business. Additionally, The Freighter Group will assume responsibility for future warranty claims and liabilities related to goods sold prior to the sale. MaxiPARTS is now better positioned to concentrate on its core operations without legal distractions, supported by leadership from Managing Director & CEO Peter Loimaranta and CFO Liz Blockley. The company remains a key supplier in the Australian truck and trailer parts industry.
