Petratherm (ASX:PTR) has unveiled a substantial discovery at its Rosewood Prospect in South Australia's Gawler Craton. Initial drilling results highlight high concentrations of heavy mineral sands (HMS) rich in valuable minerals like leucoxene and rutile, signaling significant potential for economic development. This discovery is a promising step for the Muckanippie Project.
Petratherm's recent drilling at the Rosewood Prospect has revealed promising concentrations of heavy minerals, including titanium-rich leucoxene and rutile. Initial assays from five drill holes show significant heavy mineral concentrations, with further results from 45 additional drill holes expected shortly. The mineralization is associated with fluvio-deltaic marine placer deposits, and the strategic importance of titanium in technology applications adds value to the discovery. Petratherm plans further drilling and mineral analysis to expand the project, with additional exploration underway in other areas of the Muckanippie Project. The company is focused on unlocking the full potential of its holdings, bolstered by the strategic location within the mineral-rich Gawler Craton.
Petratherm's CEO, Peter Reid, expressed confidence in the discovery's significance and its implications for the project's viability and scale. The company aims to maintain a steady flow of results and updates as new data becomes available.
