Agrimin Limited (ASX: $AMN) has announced successful flotation testwork results for the Mackay Potash Project. The testwork, conducted in partnership with FLSmidth Inc. and Veolia Water Technologies Inc. (USA), achieved over 90% potassium recovery at greater than 90% schoenite grade, focusing on lower grade feed salts expected during the initial ramp-up of operations.
Debbie Morrow, Managing Director & CEO of Agrimin, expressed satisfaction with the successful flotation results, highlighting the critical nature of the conversion step in producing suitable salts for flotation. She also outlined the company's plans for further testwork and collaboration with equipment vendors Veolia and FLSmidth to advance the project.
Agrimin's successful flotation testwork represents a significant milestone for the Mackay Potash Project, demonstrating the company's progress in overcoming key industry challenges. The upcoming focus on downstream schoenite leach and SOP crystallisation stages indicates a proactive approach to refining the project's design. With the demand for SOP underpinned by population growth, Agrimin's vision of sustainable food security aligns with the project's strategic significance. The company's commitment to finalising testwork and advancing the plant design for commercial scale reflects its dedication to achieving a viable solution for SOP production.
