Alara Resources (ASX:AUQ), an Australian-based metals producer, has announced improvements in copper concentrate output at its Al Wash-hi Majaza plant in Oman. The company, with a 51% interest in Al Hadeetha Resources LLC, has increased production rates due to recent enhancements in its flotation circuit.
Alara Resources has successfully improved copper concentrate production at its Al Wash-hi Majaza plant through optimization of its flotation circuit and processing of higher-grade ore. The sixth shipment, consisting of 1252 WMT of copper and 5 kg of gold, is set for dispatch to China. The company is committed to ongoing exploration in Oman and aims to become a mid-tier minerals producer, focusing on sustainable and low-cost operations to maximize shareholder value.
The Wash-hi Majaza processing plant has enhanced its production rates through optimization of reagent dosage, concentration in the flotation circuit, and air flow rate adjustments, leading to increased copper liberation and recovery. Feeding freshly mined ore with a higher copper grade also contributed to improved production results. The plant produced 186 metric tons of copper over a recent two-week shipping cycle, compared to 124 metric tons in a previous four-week cycle.
