Aldoro Resources Ltd (ASX: $ARN) has provided an update on the progress of geological mapping for the main Kameelburg carbonatite body, focusing on multiple beforsite dykes. The company has collected 22 highly prospective rock samples for analysis and has completed SEM Mineralogy for seven metallurgical samples to optimize Niobium and Rare Earth Elements (REE) recovery flow sheet design.
The highly regarded mineralogist Dr Roger Townend from Diamantina Laboratories conducted a SEM/EDS study of the REE and Nb minerals using representative splits from the full seven samples. Dr Townend's summary reported the identification of Ce monazites and ancylite as the dominant rare earth minerals and ferrocolumbite as the dominant Niobium mineral for selected samples. These results will allow for better discrimination of the processes required to liberate the REE and Nb minerals from the carbonatite ore.
