Alkane Resources Ltd (ASX: $ALK) has announced the confirmation of large copper, zinc, lead, and silver (Cu-Zn-Pb-Ag) targets at the Rockley Project in Central New South Wales. The project, located 35 kilometres south of Bathurst, covers a portion of the highly prospective Late Silurian Mumbil Group, known for base metal and gold mineralisation forming as volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) or skarn type deposits.
Alkane Managing Director, Nic Earner, expressed satisfaction with the exploration team's progress at the Rockley Project, stating, 'Alkane's exploration team is using its considerable experience to advance exploration on another of our tenement packages, the Rockley Project. We're looking for large VMS or skarn-type deposits that contain gold or base metals, particularly copper. These results are encouraging; we have identified multiple occurrences of mineralisation and have several large targets within the Project area. We will conduct further scout drilling on the most prospective of these targets in the coming months.'
