Australian Gold and Copper Ltd (ASX: $AGC) has initiated an extensive exploration campaign at Achilles, located in the southern portion of the Cobar Basin in central NSW. The campaign includes a twenty-hole reverse circulation (RC) drilling program and induced polarisation (IP) geophysical survey aimed at rapidly expanding on the high-grade Achilles discovery.
The RC drilling program, currently in progress, will focus on extending the strike length and depth of the deposit, along with testing the continuity of the high-grade zones. Additionally, the program will include up to ten diamond core holes targeting the depth extents of the high-grade zones. The IP geophysical survey is designed to test for further sulphide-bearing targets along an 8km section of the Achilles Shear Zone, which is considered highly prospective for additional gold and base metal discoveries. The survey is expected to take up to 2 months to complete.
