Australian Silica Quartz Group Limited (ASX:ASQ) has successfully completed a maiden 17Mt JORC Resource at the Quartz Hill Project, confirming the deposit's potential for MGSi Quartz Lump feedstock. The Resource, with 99.04% SiO2, is a significant step in securing the quartz supply for Quinbrook's planned polysilicon facility at the Lansdown Eco-Industrial Precinct. ASQ received $1 million from Quinbrook for the exclusive right to purchase 10 million tonnes of MGSi Quartz from the mine gate at Quartz Hill. The company is working with Quinbrook to assess Quartz Hill as a source of MGSi feedstock, and further detailed quality testing and feasibility work are underway to confirm the viability of extraction and production.
