Brightstar Resources Limited (ASX:BTR) has announced the results from the surface and underground drilling programs conducted at the Second Fortune Gold Mine, located south of Laverton, WA. The drilling assays have returned high grades within and beneath the current forward mine plan, with the deepest hole drilled to date, SFRCD2408, returning +31g/t Au from a 0.3m downhole intercept at 465.75m depth, proving the continuation of high-grade mineralisation at depths +400m below the surface. These results provide significant confidence in mine life extension at Second Fortune.
Brightstar's Managing Director, Alex Rovira, expressed satisfaction with the results, stating, 'We are delighted with the results which successfully proved that the high-grade Second Fortune vein system continues at depths well below the current mine plan. This result provides a compelling target for Brightstar to explore further in order to extend the mine life at Second Fortune. Accordingly, we have expedited plans to complete further underground drilling to commence imminently, which will inform an upgraded Mineral Resource Estimate this CY24 with the intent of potentially supporting the declaration of Ore Reserves and formal production outlook.'
The drilling program at Second Fortune Gold Mine has delivered promising results, indicating the potential for high-grade mine life extensions. Brightstar Resources is set to commence further underground drilling to enhance geological knowledge and confidence for CY25 production. The company aims to upgrade the Mineral Resource Estimate and potentially support the declaration of Ore Reserves, further solidifying its production outlook. With the successful drilling program, Brightstar Resources is optimistic about the future prospects of the Second Fortune Gold Mine and looks forward to sharing ongoing results as they are received.
