Cobre (ASX:CBE) has begun a Diamond Drilling program at the Ngami Copper Project in Botswana's Kalahari Copperbelt. This initiative aims to explore potential extensions of mineralization at the Comet Target, integrating untested strike into the current Exploration Target, which ranges between 103 and 166 million tonnes of copper.
Cobre's new drilling program at the Ngami Copper Project is focused on expanding the existing Exploration Target by testing extensions of mineralization at the Comet Target. The program aims to convert part of the Exploration Target into Indicated and Inferred categories, contributing to a Mineral Resource Estimate. The mineralization is characterized by sedimentary-hosted copper-silver deposits, similar to processes in other known deposits. This initiative is a strategic move to support ongoing development and potentially expand the proven mineralization strike length at NCP. The exploration results are compiled by Mr. David Catterall, ensuring compliance with the 2012 JORC Code.
The drilling program, covering approximately 4,800 meters, aims to convert 10-20% of the Exploration Target into Indicated and Inferred categories through detailed infill drilling. The outcomes will contribute to a Mineral Resource Estimate, supporting Cobre's development efforts in the area.
