Cobre Ltd Leading Exploitation in Top Mining Jurisdiction

Cobre is an emerging resources exploration growth company whose enriched high-grade copper discoveries and high-grade development pipelines seek to underpin copper’s future growth in the electric vehicle and renewable energy sectors. The company that owns 100% of all their tenements with no joint ventures is poised to become one of the most significant players in Botswana. This 100% ownership of its tenements indicates that Cobre Ltd (ASX: CBE) stands to gain 100% from the revenues in this project.

Botswana and Africa are leading Mining jurisdictions

As global economies transition toward more sustainable economies, more countries and companies require a range of minerals to support the production of key products. Botswana— a world leader in diamond production by value -- has reclaimed its spot as Africa’s mining darling, toppling Morocco to return on top as Africa's most investment-attractive jurisdiction in mining according to the Fraser Institute.  The rating evaluated policy factors such as uncertainty concerning the administration of current regulations, environmental regulations, regulatory duplication, the legal system and taxation regime, uncertainty concerning protected areas and disputed land claims, infrastructure, socio economic and community development conditions, trade barriers, political stability, labor regulations, quality of the geological database, security, and labor and skills availability.

Ngami Copper Mine (NCP) Has Strong Potential

Cobre Ltd. (ASX: CBE) has begun advanced exploration at the NCP targeting Copper-Silver mineralisation and the Ngami Copper Project (NCP) is currently undergoing advanced exploration targeting copper-silver mineralisation with drill intersections that have a strong potential for high-grade minerals. The project includes over 100km of prospective Ngwako-Pan/D’Kar Formation contact for traditional limb-based mineralization. There is a range of minerals in this site ranging from copper, silver, and various hybrid forms that can be exploited for a range of markets and industries. Also, the returns from this project are reassured by Botswana’s supportive and encouraging business environment.  Several trap sites reveal that there is a real prospect for significant mineral discovery. Furthermore, the minerals may be removed from the ground using environmentally friendly in-situ drilling methods. Consistent anomalous copper-silver intersections on this project have highlighted the significant endowment of this portion of the Kalahari Copper Belt. Combined with Kitlanya West, this project area offers district-scale opportunities on the northern margin of the Kalahari Copper Belt where Cobre holds the dominant license position. Finally, diamond drilling was used and has previously delivered good recovery rates especially after the bedrock was intersected.

Preliminary Research Shows Strong Potential of NCP Sites

The Ngami Copper Project (NCP) is currently undergoing advanced exploration targeting copper-silver mineralisation with several encouraging drill intersections from the Comet target as well as surrounding targets. The project area includes two large anticlinal features with over 100km of prospective Ngwako-Pan/D’Kar Formation contact for traditional limb-based mineralisation. The potential for mineralisation in folded trap sites is also evident. Furthermore, copper-silver intersections on this project highlight the significant endowment of this portion of the Kalahari Copper Belt and a vast scale of opportunities in the area where Cobre Ltd (ASX: CBE) holds a dominant license position. This will allow the company to explore the site over the long run and enjoy early market access for the resource-rich zone.

100% Ownership of Tenements will Support Cobre Revenues and Profitability

Unlike some mining companies who part-own their tenements, Cobre Ltd. (ASX: CBE) owns 100% of their tenements. This is good for Cobre Ltd (ASX: CBE) as it suggests that 100% of the returns and profits will accrue solely to the company. Secondly, this approach is further evidence that its competent team and innovative methods can guarantee returns for investors and return on investments (ROI) over the long run.  Secondly, with Botswana being an attractive destination for mining, there are reasonable long-run returns for investors, and royalty payments and taxes are attractive in a bid to attract companies such as Cobre Ltd. (ASX: CBE). Besides benefitting from supportive regulation and a good business environment as it proceeds with drilling, Cobre Ltd (ASX: CBE) is equally not bound by law to sell its product at a specific price, enabling it to enjoy the surge in metal prices, especially for silver where a late rally is forecasted by some market actors.

Strong Silver Prices to Support Output

Spot silver prices rose 0.2% at $24.36 per ounce in March and forward contracts rose 5% in the week ending March 2024. Market actors expect the price of silver to reach $24, reinforcing the trend of rising prices. It is important to note that Silver prices have risen by 3.36% when compared to prices in March 2023. As the price of gold rises, silver prices will equally follow, supporting demand for the dual-use metal.  Cobre Ltd. (ASX: CBE) is well placed to benefit from rising metal demand and strong silver prices over the long-run. As Cobre Ltd. (ASX: CBE) owns 100% of its tenements and has begun drilling in sites with good potential, its revenues and profits are likely to grow over the long-run. Meanwhile, Botswana is the top mining jurisdiction across Africa and the continent ranks 7th globally, allowing Cobre to benefit from supportive regulation and a well-functioning business environment.

I’m impressed by Cobre’s exploration progress at the NCP. The consistent anomalous copper-silver intersections are a strong indicator of the project’s potential.

Cobre seems to be a well-positioned company with a bright future. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on their progress.

They made a good bet going to Botswana. The government is literally paying companies to train people and its is politically stable. Also, proven reserves tend to be revenue generating. Good idea to prime Africa as the world eyes the energy transition.
