Copper Search Ltd (ASX:CUS) has released the assay results of the first diamond core drill hole (24PK14) at the Douglas Creek IOCG Prospect. The drilling intersected brecciated and significantly altered mafic and metasedimentary rocks, with nearly continuous copper mineralisation throughout the hole, including native copper, chalcopyrite, and bornite. The company has also completed a second drill hole, 24PK14B, with assay results pending. Further drilling at the prospect will be subject to these results and associated technical review.
Managing Director Duncan Chessell commented, 'We have always known that Copper Search's mission to find the next large-scale copper deposit was a high-risk, high-reward endeavour. While the latest results are not what we wanted, we're looking forward to seeing the results of the second drill hole, 24PK14-B, at the Douglas Creek IOCG Prospect and Professor Schaefer's review of the Peake Project.'
The initial drilling results at the Douglas Creek IOCG Prospect have revealed significant copper mineralisation, with further assay results pending. The appointment of IOCG expert Professor Bruce Schaefer for a project review indicates the company's commitment to thorough analysis and decision-making. Copper Search remains optimistic about the potential of the Peake Project and is focused on leveraging the expertise of industry specialists to inform its next steps in the exploration process.
