Gold Mountain Limited (ASX: $GMN) has announced the identification of significant anomalies on the Ronaldinho Rare Earths Project. The preliminary traversing with the GMN MS350 spectrometer revealed thorium anomalies with highly anomalous values over 4 intervals of up to 250 metres wide. The company plans to conduct extensive additional traverses and stream sediment and channel sampling to confirm REE contents of the thorium anomalous area, with follow-up work commencing in July.
We are pleased with the preliminary traversing results, which have revealed significant thorium anomalies in the Ronaldinho Project area. The comparison with traverses over a known mineralised area shows similar high values, indicating the potential for significant REE mineralisation. The extensive areas of potentially mineralised rock inferred from the radiometric traversing and observations of the thick weathering profile are encouraging. We are looking forward to commencing the follow-up work, including stream sediment and channel sampling, to further confirm the REE contents of the thorium anomalous area. These results mark an important step in our exploration efforts and demonstrate the prospectivity of the Ronaldinho Rare Earths Project.
