Great Southern Mining Limited (ASX: $GSN) has announced its plans to recommence drilling at its 100% owned Duketon Gold Project in August 2024. The drilling will initially target the Golden Boulder prospect and then focus on testing newly defined target areas within the Project. The Company aims to confirm continuity and test depth extents, as well as explore new targets identified through ongoing targeting.
It is exciting to be back on the ground and drilling. This targeted program will see GSN return to the Golden Boulder prospect and follow up successful 2021 and 2023 drilling programs which intercepted high grade gold along three mineralised trends. Drilling has already defined up to 1.6 kilometres of mineralised strike, and the upcoming program aims to confirm continuity, as well as testing depth extents. We also aim to test new targets that have been defined by ongoing targeting. GSN's tenure remains highly underexplored with many target areas having virtually no drilling since Sons of Gwalia conducted broad spaced, shallow regional vacuum and air core programs in the 1990's.
Great Southern Mining (ASX: $GSN) is set to recommence drilling at its Duketon Gold Project in August 2024, with a focus on the Golden Boulder prospect and newly defined target areas. The Company aims to confirm continuity, test depth extents, and explore new targets identified through ongoing targeting. GSN's Managing Director, Matthew Keane, expressed excitement about the targeted program, highlighting the potential for significant discoveries given the underexplored nature of GSN's tenure. The Company's ongoing target generation and refinement strategy, supported by recent soil geochemical surveys, has strengthened the prospectivity of the Boundary prospect and defined new target areas within the Amy Clarke prospect. With significant land holdings in the world-renowned mining districts of Laverton in Western Australia and Mt Carlton in north Queensland, GSN is well-positioned to pursue its exploration activities and potentially make significant discoveries in the future.
