Great Western Exploration Limited (ASX: $GTE) has successfully concluded a drilling programme at the Fairbairn Copper Project in Western Australia. The programme aimed to test three Fixed Loop Electromagnetic (FLEM) conductor targets, spaced between two to four kilometres apart, and has provided valuable insights into the geological environment and potential mineralisation at the project site.
The completion of the drilling programme at the Fairbairn Copper Project marks a significant milestone for Great Western Exploration. The encountered turbidite sedimentary rocks, mafic and bimodal volcanic rocks, and the presence of trace chalcopyrite indicate a promising geological environment for potential mineral deposits. Our focus now shifts towards the highly prospective Oval and Oval South copper targets within the Yerrida North Project, where we anticipate commencing drilling early in the upcoming financial year.
Great Western Exploration's drilling programme at the Fairbairn Copper Project has successfully validated the geological model and identified potential indicators of mineralisation. While significant copper results are not expected from the trace chalcopyrite intercepts, the encountered geological formations and alteration styles provide valuable insights. The Company's upcoming focus on the Oval and Oval South targets within the Yerrida North Project demonstrates its commitment to exploring highly prospective areas for copper-gold mineralisation. With a strong emphasis on exploration and leveraging its well-funded position, Great Western Exploration remains dedicated to unlocking the potential of its extensive land position in Western Australia.
