Haranga Resources Limited (ASX: $HAR) has announced the successful completion of the initial leach tests on drill core samples from the Saraya Uranium Deposit. The tests, conducted by SGS Lakefield (Canada) and supervised by Independent Metallurgical Operations (IMO), confirmed a high >96% uranium extraction under atmospheric leach conditions using sulphuric acid. The company's Managing Director, Mr. Peter Batten, expressed satisfaction with the results, highlighting the aggressive nature of the test to assess the extraction limits. Further testwork results and newsflow are expected in April/May, including additional metallurgical testwork results, potential resource category upgrade, assay results from RC drill program, auger results, and infill/regional sampling.
Mr. Peter Batten, Managing Director of Haranga Resources, commented, 'The first results from the ore characterisation testwork are positive, as expected. The acid leach recoveries are pleasingly high, but this was an aggressive test to assess what the limits are. The next work will pare back the aggressive parameters and give a clearer indication of what could be expected in processing of the Saraya mineralised episyenite. It was interesting to note that the diamond core samples were selected to represent the Mineral Resource Estimate grade of 587 ppm U3O8 and realised a head grade 14% higher. The alkaline leach results are also good and give Haranga two options to consider, if and when we enter feasibility studies for the Saraya Uranium Deposit.'
The initial leach results from Haranga Resources' Saraya Uranium Deposit have demonstrated a high >96% uranium extraction under atmospheric leach conditions using sulphuric acid, along with 84% uranium extraction using an alkaline atmospheric leach. The company's focus on further testwork, potential resource category upgrade, and additional assay results indicates a proactive approach to optimizing the extraction process. The outlook for Haranga Resources involves continued exploration and development of the Saraya Uranium Project, with the company's immediate focus on defining drill targets and executing a maiden drill program across its Ibel-South gold project in Senegal during 2024. Haranga Resources also aims to identify and assess additional acquisition targets across the African region, primarily focused on expanding its portfolio across the clean energy and gold sectors.
