Iceni Gold Limited (ASX:ICL) has reported the discovery of a substantial bedrock gold anomaly at the 14 Mile Well Gold Project. The aircore drilling program revealed a 4.5km long coherent gold anomaly at the Guyer Trend, with gold mineralisation intersected in multiple vertical holes on five 800m spaced drill traverses. The majority of the gold intercepts occur close to the partially oxidised granite-greenstone contact, indicating the potential footprint of a primary gold system. The discovery is located approximately 750m west of an extensive gold nugget find along Guyer Ridge, further demonstrating the auriferous nature of the 15km long Guyer Trend.
Iceni Managing Director Wade Johnson expressed excitement about the results, highlighting the success of the Company's strategy to systematically explore targets under transported cover through aircore drilling campaigns. The 4.5km long bedrock gold anomaly, discovered from an early-stage drill program, may represent the footprint of a blind gold system. Johnson emphasized the significance of the discovery and the Company's anticipation for the next drilling programs at Guyer, aiming for the delivery of a new gold discovery.
The discovery of the 4.5km long bedrock gold anomaly marks a significant milestone for Iceni Gold Limited. The Company is encouraged by the results from the early-stage aircore drilling program and is well advanced in planning and preparing for additional infill and extensional AC drilling programs. With a further 7km of the prospective granite-greenstone contact remaining untested along strike, Iceni Gold is poised to continue its exploration efforts at the Guyer Trend. The multielement data from the upcoming assay results is expected to guide infill AC drilling, further enhancing the understanding of the bedrock geology and the pathfinder geochemistry associated with the gold mineralisation. The Company's focus on systematic geological investigation and strategic exploration methods underscores its commitment to unlocking the potential of the 14 Mile Well Project in the highly gold endowed Leonora-Laverton district of Western Australia.
