Sayona Mining Limited (ASX: $SYA) has announced the identification of high potential lithium, caesium, tantalum (LCT) type pegmatites at its 100% owned Tabba Tabba Lithium Project in Western Australia. The maiden exploration drilling at the E45/2364 site revealed promising results, leading to plans for deeper drilling along a 7.5km prospective corridor located south of the historic Tabba Tabba tantalum mine. The company aims to boost its global lithium base through the exploration of deep drilling targets in 2024.
Sayona's Director and Interim CEO, James Brown, expressed satisfaction with the drilling program's results so far, highlighting the delineation of a prospective lithium corridor. He emphasized the identification of high potential pegmatites and the plans for a deeper RC drilling program. Brown also expressed excitement about the exploration for lithium mineralization in Western Australia and the company's commitment to advancing exploration programs in both Québec, Canada and Western Australia to expand and diversify its global lithium portfolio.
The maiden exploration drilling at Sayona Mining's Tabba Tabba Lithium Project has successfully identified high potential lithium, caesium, tantalum (LCT) type pegmatites. The company plans to conduct deeper drilling along a 7.5km prospective corridor, aiming to boost its global lithium base. The ground gravity surveying has commenced to focus future deep drilling, and the company is planning reverse circulation (RC) drilling to test existing and new gravity defined targets within fresh rock at depth. Sayona holds 100% of the lithium rights to six tenements within the Pilgangoora lithium district, and the commencement of drilling at the Tabba Tabba project marks a strategic re-evaluation of the importance of the Western Australian lithium tenure in Sayona's global lithium development portfolio. The company is also benefiting from an enhanced understanding of pegmatite occurrences, guiding its exploration approach and targeting process for future drilling.
