Si6 Metals Limited (Si6) (ASX: $SI6) has reported the discovery of a new high-grade rare earth elements (REE) mineralised zone at the Poços de Caldas Alkaline Complex in Minas Gerais South. The maiden progress auger drill assays have uncovered high-grade intercepts, including up to 5,475ppm total rare earth oxides (TREO) and 36% Magnetic Rare Earth Oxides (MREO) at the Caldera Prospect.
The Managing Director, Jim Malone, expressed excitement about the auger results, highlighting the potential for the Caldera joint venture prospect to develop into a discovery zone. He emphasized the significance of the high proportions of high-value and strategically critical magnet rare earth oxides up to 36%. Malone also mentioned the company's exploration drilling plans with their joint venture partner and the long-term relationship they aim to build as they continue to explore and strengthen their Brazilian critical metals portfolio.
Si6 Metals' discovery of significant zones of enriched Magnetic Rare Earth Oxides at the Caldera Prospect marks a strategic advancement in the global critical metals supply chain. The company's focus on completing work programs and reviewing data to determine targets for further drilling demonstrates their commitment to maximizing the portfolio of high-value critical metals. The potential for mineralisation to extend to greater depths into the saprolite profile presents an opportunity for future resource delineation at Caldera. Si6 Metals aims to continue exploring and strengthening their Brazilian critical metals portfolio, positioning themselves for long-term success in the industry.
