Silver Mines Limited (ASX:SVL) is set to commence the first ever drilling program at the Bara Creek Prospect, located within the Bowdens Silver Project. The drilling activity has been approved by the NSW Resources Regulator. The Bara Creek prospect is interpreted to be a high-sulphidation, epithermal system, originally identified in 1989 from anomalous Au-As-Ag-Cu-Sb stream sediments sampled by CRA Exploration. The Stage 1 drilling program will consist of eight diamond drill holes for 2,600m, with all approvals in place and the drilling schedule to commence on 14 October.
The first ever drilling program at the Bara Creek Prospect marks a significant milestone for Silver Mines Limited. The extensive field work conducted in 2023 has provided compelling evidence of the prospectivity of the Bara Creek caldera, and we are eager to commence the drilling program to further explore this high-priority target. The identification of an extensive hydrothermal system at the surface, along with the anomalous Au, Ag, Bi, Mo, and As from rock chip and soil sampling results, has reinforced our confidence in the potential of the Bara Creek Prospect. We are optimistic about the outcomes of the drilling program and the possibility of making a greenfield discovery within the highly prospective Rylstone Volcanics.
