Talisman Mining Limited (ASX: $TLM) has initiated the 2024 exploration program at its 100%-owned Mabel Creek IOCG Project in South Australia. The company has commenced a Ground Gravity Survey covering the entire 1,048sqkm holding, with the initial 6-8 week survey program aimed at identifying drill targets for the planned field program in the second half. This marks the first on-ground exploration work in this project area for 14 years.
We are very pleased to be back exploring at Mabel Creek with the detailed gravity survey now underway - the first on-ground exploration activity at the project in more than 14 years. Mabel Creek is a project that we acquired in 2023 and we believe is prospective for large-scale IOCG-style mineralization as seen elsewhere in the Gawler Craton. The neighborhood is very active with exploration programs being undertaken by Rio Tinto, FMG and Petratherm in the area.
Talisman Mining Limited (ASX: $TLM) has re-commenced field-based exploration at the Mabel Creek Prospect in South Australia, initiating the 2024 exploration program. The company's focus on the 100%-owned Mabel Creek IOCG Project is evident through the commencement of the Ground Gravity Survey, aimed at identifying drill targets for the planned field program in the second half. With the project being lightly-explored and the last on-ground exploration work undertaken 14 years ago, the company's efforts signify a renewed interest in the potential for large-scale IOCG-style mineralization. Talisman's Managing Director, Andrew Munckton, expressed optimism about the project's prospectivity and highlighted the active exploration programs in the area by other industry players. The detailed gravity survey, conducted by Atlas Geophysics, is expected to provide valuable insights for the company's future exploration and development strategies.
