The Star (ASX:$SGR) extends manager appointment in NSW

The Star's Manager Appointment Extension Announcement


The Star Entertainment Group Limited (ASX:$SGR) has announced the extension of Mr Nicholas Weeks' appointment as manager of the Sydney Casino by the New South Wales Independent Casino Commission (NICC) to 30 June 2024, unless earlier terminated by the NICC. The extension is intended to provide The Star with additional time to satisfy the NICC regarding the remedial action required for it to become suitable and be permitted to return to gaming in accordance with the provisions of the Sydney casino licence.

Executive Commentary on Manager Appointment Extension


The NICC's request for the extension of the Manager's term reflects their intention to allow The Star to address the remedial actions necessary for the Sydney Casino to meet the regulatory requirements. We are committed to engaging with the NICC and the Manager to finalize the remediation plan and other related matters to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Sydney casino licence.
