Variscan Mines Limited (ASX:VAR) has compiled and reported historic high-grade zinc-lead assay results from the Udias Mine, confirming mineralization outside the current Mineral Resource Estimate footprint. The results include very high-grade zinc-lead sampling results, with the potential to grow the Mineral Resource and unlock further value from the Novales-Udias Project. The company is set to commence underground drilling at Udias Mine next month, with the aim of updating the Mineral Resource Estimate by year end.
These super high-grade zinc-lead sampling results are very exciting ahead of Variscan drill-testing the Udias Mine complex for the first time. With drilling in these areas about to start, we remain on track to update the Mineral Resource Estimate by year end. We believe that a sizeable tonnage of high-grade zinc sulphide mineralization remains and has been untouched for nearly a century. With the potential to grow the Mineral Resource, the opportunity to unlock further value from the outstanding and newly enlarged Novales-Udias Project continues to be apparent. We continue to progress one of the highest-grade, development stage zinc deposits in Europe towards re-starting production.
