Australian lithium explorer and developer Wildcat Resources Limited (ASX: $WC8) has announced the discovery of the Luke Pegmatite and exceptional results at the Leia Pegmatite from ongoing drilling at its Tabba Tabba Lithium Project near Port Hedland, Western Australia. The company has drilled nearly 74,000m at Tabba Tabba to date, defining a 3.2km long LCT pegmatite field hosting at least seven significant pegmatite bodies. The recent discovery of the Luke Pegmatite beneath the Leia deposit has provided encouragement for further exploration at the site. Wildcat remains well funded with $94.1 million as at 31 December 2023, enabling completion of drilling and initial studies at Tabba Tabba.
Geology Manager, Torrin Rowe, expressed satisfaction with the blind discovery of the thick mineralised pegmatite at Luke, confirming the ongoing exploration potential at Tabba Tabba. He highlighted the company's efforts in developing and testing geological theories, expressing excitement about delineating the scale of the Luke Pegmatite and continuing to test the exploration model for further discoveries.
The discovery of the Luke Pegmatite and ongoing impressive results at the Leia Pegmatite demonstrate the significant exploration potential at the Tabba Tabba Lithium Project. With the company's aggressive exploration campaign and well-funded status, Wildcat Resources aims to understand the scale and geometry of the Luke Pegmatite, continue drilling at the Leia Pegmatite to develop geological understanding, and plan maiden drill programs at regional priority targets. The company's acquisition of the Tabba Tabba Lithium-Tantalum Project and the subsequent exploration activities position it well for further exploration and evaluation of this significant lithium tantalum project.
