Yandal Resources Ltd (ASX:YRL) has announced the commencement of the first phase of air-core (AC) drilling across the Caladan and Irulan target areas within the Ironstone Well-Barwidgee (IWB) Gold Project. The drilling, set to be completed by the end of October, aims to test several interpreted structures and the stratigraphy across the 3km wide, 8km long fold structure at the Caladan target area, as well as 800m spaced air-core lines across the northern half of the Irulan target area.
The Caladan and Irulan target areas represent significant early-stage exploration targets identified following the completion of a ground gravity survey in early 2024. The commencement of air-core drilling marks a crucial step in our exploration efforts to uncover the potential of these target areas. The Caladan Fold structure, with its under-explored nature and several low-level regolith anomalies, presents an exciting opportunity for Yandal Resources. Similarly, the Irulan target area, with its large mafic dolerite complex and previous drilling intercepts demonstrating high-grade mineralization, holds promise for the Company's exploration endeavors.
Yandal Resources' commencement of air-core drilling at the Caladan and Irulan target areas signifies a significant milestone in the Company's exploration activities. The drilling, scheduled to be completed by the end of October, is expected to yield results in 6-8 weeks. The Company also plans a second phase of air-core drilling across the Caladan target area following the completion of heritage surveys. With ongoing field reconnaissance of soil anomalies and upcoming results from the New England Granite RC drilling program and the second phase of soil sampling, Yandal Resources is poised to gain valuable insights into the potential of the Ironstone Well-Barwidgee Gold Project. The Company's focus on these exploration activities underscores its commitment to unlocking the full potential of its gold exploration projects in Western Australia's highly prospective greenstone belts.
