Exploration Advancements at Ord Basin and Salt Creek:
Omnia Metals Group Ltd (ASX OM1) has provided an important update on its exploration efforts at the Ord Basin and Salt Creek Projects in Western Australia. With successful sampling work completed at Ord Basin and imminent drill testing for new gold and copper targets at Salt Creek, the company continues its strategic push towards discovering critical minerals for the global energy transition.
Successful Completion of Sampling at Ord Basin Project:
Omnia has achieved a significant milestone at the Ord Basin Project, where the company's maiden geochemical sampling program has been successfully completed. Samples are now enroute to the laboratory for UltraFine+® and diamond indicator mineral analysis, with representatives of the Purnululu people closely involved in the monitoring process. This collaboration strengthens Omnia’s relationship with the Traditional Owners, as the company works to further explore this mineral-rich region.
Exploration efforts at the Ord Basin focused on two primary target areas, aiming to identify copper-nickel sulphide mineralisation and carbonatite/kimberlite-related mineralisation, which may host rare earth elements or diamonds. Initial results from reconnaissance work were promising, with previous field samples revealing copper and gold concentrations as high as 10.3% and 29 g/t, respectively.
PoW Approval for Salt Creek Project’s Drill Testing:
At the Salt Creek Project, Omnia has received Programme of Work (PoW) approval for up to 5,000m of RC drilling, which will target newly identified gold and copper anomalies. The company is currently working in close collaboration with the Upurli Upurli Native Title Group to complete the required Heritage Survey, which is expected to be finalised by November 2024. Once completed, Omnia plans to move forward with the drilling program to test the prospective targets identified through geophysical survey data and modelling.
